The Starmount Rams defeated the Elkin Bucking Elks by a score of 15-7 to win the Northwest 1A Conference Championship and the WIFM Battle of the Bridge. The Rams (7-4) will be the Western 1AA #3 seed and will host North Lincoln in the first round of the playoffs


Ram Football History 
A little history about Starmount Football. Starmount's Football was first started in 1967, that year we missed the playoffs and was 5-4. We was 5-4-1 and was 2nd in the conference and made it to the first round of the playoffs. Over the next few years we was not to good In 1996(2A), 1997 we made it to the final 4 and couldn't make it to the championship. But in 1998 "The year off the Ram" in his first year as head coach, Coach Joe Hutchens took them to the Championship Game and won it against North Edgecome. We was 15-1 that year.

In the years after the title we have been 12-4,8-5,8-4,12-2,10-3 and this year 7-4 and the conference champs! The first one since "The year of the ram."
In all of the years we are 302-133-4 69%
and 15 conference championships!
